Workshop Ideal Parent Method

A training by Stefan Passvogel and Wilfried Mende with the aim of understanding the patterns you use to interact with other people and changing them through the imagination of ideal parents.

Breathe.
Reflect.
imagine.
Enjoy.
Change.

Why participate?

Life is too short to spend time in unresolved conflicts or relationship chaos.

The training is designed to equip you with the knowledge and practical tools needed to have more balanced and fulfilling relationships and to thrive in your life.

Just learning how your relationship patterns and self-esteem affect your current life can do wonders.

However, understanding what used to be and wasn't is not enough. It takes an emotionally corrective experience.

The closest relationships are often the most difficult.

Advantages of the method?

The practice is gentle, resource-oriented and non-pathologizing. It is based on a process developed by Daniel P. Brown (PhD) and David S. Elliot (PhD) at Harvard Medical School.

The Ideal Parent Protocol offers two advantages over traditional methods. Instead of analyzing the past, an emotionally corrective experience is made. And this method reaches even the earliest childhood experiences, which are not reached by most methods due to their pre-linguistic structure.

Gain mastery in managing your own emotions

Workflow of the worktop

The workshop includes the comprehensive and innovative treatment approach to remedying attachment disorders, dissolving maladaptive schemes and strengthening self-development, the Ideal Parent Method.

Step 1: Update the binding experience

The bonding experience is shaped by the parents between the 6th and 20th month of life on a pre-linguistic level. It represents the foundation for further psychological development. The foundation should be stable before further personality development is profitable.

The Ideal Parent Method has proven to be effective here. In more than 10 imaginations we illuminate different facets and strengthen the inner representation of the ideal parents. The two other pillars of the methodology, the strengthening of meta-cognition and collaborative behavior, are repeatedly incorporated into the workshop through interactive exercises.

Step 2: Resolve Dysfunctional Schemas

Based on the bonding experience, relationship schemes develop from the age of 24 months. These are beliefs you have formed about yourself and your relationships . An example could be “Nobody cares about me” or “I have to perform in order to be loved”.

The Ideal Parent method has proven effective in transforming unfavorable schemas affecting one's core self and relationships through the imagination of ideal parents.

Step 3: Strengthen your own self-development

From the 18th month of life, the psychological representation of the self develops. This continues to develop into adulthood and forms the basis for your self-perception, your self-esteem and your self-efficacy.

By empowering your self-development, you gain more clarity about who you are and what you want out of life. Also, a stronger belief in your ability to shape your environment and relationships according to your desires and goals.

The result is a fundamentally higher self-esteem to be able to master any challenge. In the third part of the workshop we focus on strengthening self-development.
